"Novo Mundo" is a Brazilian soap opera that depicts the arrival of the Portuguese Royal Family in Brazil in 1808. They arrived in caravels, and the show includes several scenes rendered in full 3D that portray this historical moment.

Several historical studies were conducted to accurately depict the caravels of that time in the project's narrative.

To create set extension shots for this soap opera, we had to work in a scenographic city that was built to represent Rio de Janeiro in 1808. It was a challenging task as we needed to reproduce a large number of visual effects for many shots.

"This project holds significant importance in the Brazilian television industry as it depicts a historical moment that was experienced by both Portuguese and Brazilian people over 200 years ago. It is a great privilege for me to serve as the VFX Supervisor and Compositor for the scenes that have remained in the popular imagination of Brazilians."
