SARAMANDAIA

TV GLOBO / Episodic
Role / Senior Compositor

Saramandaia is a Brazilian telenovela that was produced and broadcast by TV Globo. The series was created by the talented Dias Gomes and revolves around a city where many fantastic and unbelievable events occur. There are characters such as a werewolf, a man whose heart literally goes up to his mouth, and a winged baby. Despite the series being aired many years ago, it is still remembered by many people because of its fascinating story and compelling characters.

The television series Saramandaia was first broadcast in 1976. This is an updated version of the fantastical world created by Dias Gomes.

In 2013, a second version of the Brazilian soap opera was aired. This version provided a fresh perspective on the characters and used visual effects as one of its main storytelling resources. The soap opera is considered to be of great importance in the Brazilian popular culture.

For the first time in Brazilian TV, we utilized Nuke software to create 2.5 D environment along with the pass compositing method. This allowed us to effectively combine various visual effects in a way that we've never done before.
