LEON - FREE FIRE
LIGHTFARM STUDIOS / Game Cinematic
Role / Creative Director, Compositor
In the game Free Fire, the term "Booyah" is commonly used by survivors to express their victories and other moments of joy and emotion. Booyah Day is celebrated to commemorate achievements both within the game and in real life.
The day's mascot, Leon, is a college student and basketball player who values his family above all else. Despite facing a difficult childhood caused by an accident that left him with a mechatronic leg, Leon remained optimistic and trained with his machine leg, ultimately becoming stronger.
One of the main challenges was to incorporate street basketball into a Free Fire character. This color script shows a bit of the visual development.
The cinematic was created entirely in Blender software. We were able to accurately depict the artistic references provided to us within the character's universe. All the effort and immense dedication of the team were reflected in the public’s response to the Manifesto. There were millions of views on Garena Free Fire channels all over the world.
“The Booyah Day project for Free Fire was one of the most challenging projects in my career and one of the biggest ever produced at Lightfarm. The delivery volume was certainly the biggest challenge, as there were several media and graphic pieces with high-quality delivery. Certainly, the team involved has an above-average quality, in addition to their great dedication and artistic quality. Without this, the work would not be delivered on time and would not have the visibility it had!”
